21. Roar From The Mountain
A cougar is killing people. The tracker hunting it quits, and Steve
takes over. He loses his horse and food as he is in the mountains,
and comes upon the Mayhew's farm, hungry and tired. Mrs. Mayhew
feeds him, and he learns of how Mr. Mayhew maimed the cougar,
and it later killed their son out of revenge. Mr. Mayhew blames
himself for panicking as the reason he didn't save his son. He and
Steve track the cougar, but Steve's leg is wounded when he is
attacked by it. Mr. Mayhew later finds Steve kissing his wife and
changes his feelings towards Steve.

22. Legend For A Lawman (S3E24)
While in a town in Kansas, Randy is tricked into helping rob a bank
and during a gunfight, he is shot. He is accused by the sheriff of
being involved in the robbery. The Virginian, on his own, has to
prove Randy's innocence versus the sheriff, who is too arrogant to
admit that he left the door to the bank unlocked. The Virginian then
sets out to find the bandits by offering a reward to whoever finds
them first. He finds one of the robbers dying of a gunshot wound; and
gets them to sign a confession, but the jury doesn't believe it. The
Virginian helps Randy escape, but fails. He later gets word of where
the thieves are hiding out, and with the sheriff, goes after them.

23. The Secret Of Brynmar Hall (S2Ep26)
A storm causes Randy to stay with Betsy, who is invited with her
three other friends, Richard, Jenny, and Paul, to Mrs. Brynmar's
mansion. Mrs. Brynmar's daughter, Mildred was killed in a fire
exactly two years earlier. It is a mystery how the fire started. At
the dinner table, Mrs. Brynmar has gifts for Betsy and her three
other friends. Each gift is something of Mildred's that was burned
in the fire. Many scary things are happening like thunderstorms and
a twister that hits the house and breaks the window. A strange man
dressed in black is walking around the house, Randy's guitar strings
get broken, and he gets hit on the head after finding a music box
that is mysteriously playing.

24. Another's Footsteps (S2Ep24)
The Virginian and his young friend, Dan Grant, walk into a bank during a
holdup. The outlaw shoots Dan, who pulled an empty gun on him, and shortly
afterwards, Dan dies. The outlaws leave behind horses where they had remounts
waiting. The Virginian and sheriff determine one of the horses came from a ranch
in Montana by its brand. The Virginian decides to go alone to track the outlaws.
He finds two of the outlaws and a run-down ranch with a sick wife and her son.
While waiting for the outlaw, he nurses the wife back to health and develops a
friendship with the boy; the two of them fix-up the ranch together. The husband
arrives as The Virginian is about to leave. The Virginian gives him a chance,
but is later forced to kill him, sadly changing his friendship with the boy.

25. The Intruders (S2Ep23)
Eddie Tighe who Betsy met in Chicago makes what turns out to be a
surprise visit to Shiloh to see Betsy. The Judge never opened his telegram
leading to an awkward arrival, as he is clearing everyone off the ranch for a
secret meeting between the Army and Chief Black Feather of the Sioux. Mark
Troxel invades the ranch house with three outlaws, taking everyone hostage.
Troxel wants to kill Chief Black Feather. Eddie has a chance to stop the men,
but fails as he is afraid to shoot at them. One of the men says Judge Garth
hung his brother for a murder he didn't commit. It looks like Troxel was the
murderer, and the Judge uses this evidence to cause a fight, providing Randy
an opening to recover two guns and Eddie to redeem an accident-filled visit.

26. The Modoc Kid (S5Ep19)
The Graingers visit Medicine Bow, where Elizabeth picks up one
of many new breeds of chickens she ordered, and John visits the
bank. Meanwhile at the saloon, Dell Stetler waits at the bar for
four other members of his gang arrive. They rob the bank, but on
their way out, Sheriff Ryker has them surrounded from the roof
They escape as one of their men dies, another shot in the shoulder.
Stetler and his gang later break into the Graingers' house and
hold them all hostage to help them with their wounded man. John
gets the doctor to Shiloh, and afterwards, he and Stacey secretly
devise a plan to save themselves from the intruders.

27. Beloved Outlaw (S5Ep11)
Elizabeth finds a wild white stallion and tells her father that
she wants it. Trampas catches it, but fails to break it. John
tells everyone to stay away from the horse until they can break
him. Elizabeth breaks her promise and starts taming the horse,
naming it Aladdin. They enter the horse into a race, but the
day of the race, Aladdin is injured. Elizabeth later takes the
horse for a ride and falls off, hitting her head. She then goes
temporarily blind and is forced to stay inside her bedroom,
separating her from her horse.

28. The Land Dreamer (S7Ep20)
A man named Hosea McKinley is building a house on his property
when the man he purchased it from, Caleb Welles, comes after him
with the sheriff. He demands he pay more, due to a shady contract. It
all leads to a gunfight and Welles is killed. The sheriff is shot and
badly wounded McKinley escapes as Trampas arrives after hearing the
gunshots. Clay sends The Virginian, Trampas, and David to search for
McKinley. The tired McKinley is found in his cabin with his family.
Welles's brother, Jack, wants revenge and threatens to lynch
McKinley before the trial. He uses his brother's lending business to
blackmail the town into doing what he wants. McKinley claims it was
self-defense, and the wounded Sheriff Abbott is the only witness.
David Episode

29. Vision Of Blindness (S7E04)
Elizabeth is temporarily blinded in a stagecoach accident.
She is found by Ben Oakes who wants to kill Trampas for
killing his brother who was robbing a bank at the time.
Ben tries to help her home but becomes lost; later, they
are found by The Virginian and David. Elizabeth is in love
with the conflicted Ben, who later decides that maybe
Trampas wasn't wrong in killing his brother.

30. The Ordeal (S7Ep19)
A wealthy man's son named Scott Austin comes for the summer
to work at Shiloh. He gets frustrated as it seems he cannot do
anything right, especially after accidentally drowning Elizabeth's
colt in the swamp. The Virginian tests his survival skills and
takes him into the desert, but things don't go very well for
The Virginian himself, as he has many unfortunate accidents.
